I am Larry Who.
If you look at the author’s name on the cover of JONAH, you will see the name Nevenhoven. This is my surname, but usually, no one can pronounce the name. So, what do they do? They wrinkle their nose and say, “Larry who?”
I am a Christian, a husband (wife’s name – Honey Who), a father, a grandfather, a writer, a businessman, a licensed real estate agent, a dreamer and more. If I had to list all the companies and positions that I have worked at over the last twenty-two years on a single sheet of paper, the paper would be blacked in. No white at all. Many jobs; many cities; many states.
It is hard to believe, but I am 62-years old. Sixty-two years old! President Bush, President Clinton, Sally Fields, Diane Keaton, Dolly Parton, Liza Minelli, Reggie Jackson, Priscilla Presley, Cher, Duane Allman, Donald Trump, Jimmy Buffet, Suzanne Somers and Sylvester Stallone are among those born in 1946. The first year for the Boomer Generation.
And oh yes, I live in Temecula, California.

I’m curious to know why the things you write seem so divisive, yet, you announce yourself as a Christian.

I just realized that what I wrote may have sounded disrespectful. It was not intended, and if it came off sounding like that…I ask you to forgive me.

Michelle2005,
Thanks for stopping by.
Actually, the same words were said about Jesus. We, somehow, overlook that point when we talk about His earthly ministry.

Michelle,
It did not sound disrespectful to me, but if it will make you feel better – you are forgiven.

How can I not love a guy in a Giants cap? (Both the Giants and me arrived in 1958, so I’m a little partial.) I’m not commenting on baseball, although we can do that someday. Instead I’m sending thanks for sharing your witness. Like you, I understand first hand how God goes to work when you place all your troubles in his lap and just let go. We’re not in control, although we like to think we are. I hope more people like you are willing to display vulnerability so that others can get a glimpse of God at work in our lives.
Nice job, Larry.
peace

Pastor, I call you that for in all these years the words (seeds) you prayed over me, preached at me and politely fussed at me (well sometimes not so politely) and rightfully so, have harvested. I’ve been reading. I am emailing you to let you know that June 24th I am walking the Commencement of my College with a GPA of 3.99 and the honors of Phi Beta Lambda. In September I will start my Masters and am getting a teaching certificate in post secondary education. I have a double major. Communication and Applied Science and my minor is in Fine Arts. I have finally learned that it is all about having that relationship with God, not about the religion. You were right, I was my own worst enemy. Please tell C I said hello! I love you guys, and once again thank you for your honesty, your dedication, and your faithfulness to our Lord…and not giving up when it all seemed useless. You showed me something more thousands of miles away than others did right here. Mike and I just celebrated 23 years and the birth of our 9th grandchild! May God blessed you, your always a blessing.

Terri Shaw,
What a delightful surprise! You have made my day.
There is not a doubt in my mind that whatever you have done for the Lord so far in your life will be but a drop in the ocean compared to what you will do in the near future. Expect bigger battles followed by bigger victories followed by even bigger battles followed by even bigger victories and so on and so on.
You’re ready!
